Thanksgiving Dinner table

One of my favorite parts of the holidays is setting our Thanksgiving table.  I have been collecting china, stemware and silver for years.  We even have collections for all of my three daughters.

I love when I am able to use my collections of William Yeoward Crystal, Spode China and Hotel Silver in addition to my all time favorite Asiatic Pheasant platters.  I've helped many of my clients also start collections for their home too.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

J. K. Place Capri

J. K. Place in Capri is just perfect.

Sunrise in Capri

The pool

Where do I start?  Of course the food.  How about the decor?  Beautiful lighting, incredible color contrast with white interior windows.

Enter the lobby.  I love the royal blue color on the walls with white sofa's and chairs.  I love the simplicity of white furniture.  We are working on a project right now where the dining room has this dark blue wall color.  We are using Hauge Blue by Farrow and Ball also using lovely white slip covered chairs, gorgeous dark wood floors and tables.

This junior suite has been reserved by my daughters as they love lavender.  Very China Seas/Quadrille fabric.  Look at the matching tile.

One of the best views from the bathroom!  How good is that chair?

I love all the monogramming throughout the hotel.

A beautiful room where yellow is used perfectly.

This is on our list of places to visit for sure!

Shopping for clients in Nantucket

My family started vacationing in Nantucket 15 years ago.  So much to do, so beautiful, such great restaurants and of course I love shopping at all the home stores.  Over the years there are many stores that have come and gone and some that just don't make the cut.  Some stores have incredible antiques and some have excellent accessories and new furniture.  Currently, my firm, Thornton Designs is working on some projects that are now in the finishing stage and I get to do one of my favorite things... Accessorize!

Trillium

Love storing linens in a gorgeous open cabinet.

A very special store Janis Aldridge

Always something great at RL - but needs desperately a home furnishing department in Nantucket

Nantucket Looms

I love this lantern

Flowers a must see!

Lynda Willauer has the largest selection of antique EVERYTHING.  I have bought so much from her over the years.  One of the best antique stores on the east coast.

John Rugge  - I love this store

This girl's room makes me happy!

I adore this girl's room.  I assume that the fact that I am a Mom of three daughters could be one of the reasons why... ALSO it's gorgeous!

What I am loving now... Lighting!!!

I love fabulous lighting fixtures.  LOVE!!!  Ask anyone - I could go on and on about lighting.  We love to take a great design and tweak it with a new paint color or even dip them for a polished finish.  Oh and lampshades?  Obsessed!!!  Here are some favorites that we are using with recent projects.

One of my favorite dining rooms Thornton Designs completed in Los Angeles.  I love the stunning bamboo lamp with the
de Gournay wallcovering.

Same bamboo lamp worked well for us in an Old Greenwich kitchen.  Delicious!!!

Not one of our projects but one of my favorite designers also used this lamp in a kitchen.  Jeffery Alan Marks who's on Million Dollar Decorator - always inspirational.

We are working on an incredible waterfront project in Greenwich and these hanging lamps with rope will be perfect.

With this pool house we used an incredible lantern with a vintage blue/green wine bottle table lamp.

This stone lamp really pops with the Fortuny fabric on a pleated shade.  Did I mention I am obsessed with custom lampshades?

Bamboo sconce combined with tortoise shell mirror in a powder room

Custom silver dipped kitchen lanterns turned out drop dead gorgeous!

Can't wait to use this woven lamp for a beach house we're designing now

These are definitely going in a teenagers room.  Love this floral design.  Picture looks great but these look even better in person!
